Artificial Intelligence Section

Welcome to the home page of the Artificial Intelligence section (LSI-IA). LSI-IA belongs to the Software Department (Departament de Llenguatges i Sistemes Informàtics, LSI) of the Technical University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, UPC). LSI-IA offers and coordinates several courses within the Artificial Intelligence Graduate Program of UPC. LSI-IA is concerned with the study and development of artificial intelligence systems provided with some cognitive tasks such as natural language understanding, machine learning and reasoning. The main lines of research are: autonomous agents, Bayesian-networks learning, case-based reasoning and learning, collaborative distance learning, constraint processing and programming, fuzzy systems, genetic algorithms and evolutionary strategies, hybrid soft-computing systems, integrated architectures, neural networks, pattern recognition, reinforcement learning, knowledge representation, and unsupervised learning.
