NEWS
Since March 2020, we are working on our new EU project: MSCA-ITN-2019 - Innovative Training Networks project CLIPE ( clipe-itn.eu/ ). CLIPE includes a multidisciplinary network with research centres across Europe (University of Cyprus, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, INRIA, University College London, Trinity College Dublin, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm Ecole Polytechnique, and Silversky3d) and top industrial partners (Treedy’s SPRL, British Broadcasting Corporation, Amazon.com, Studio Gobo, and Uber BV).
I will be supervising two PhD thesis, one on "Procedural Modelling of Crowd Simulation" and another one on "Real Time Animation Synthesis".
In January 2023 we have started new EU project XR4ED to bring our virtual characters into an XR platform for education.

Research Interests

During the past few years I have been carrying out research in the area of computer graphics modeling and animation techniques for real-time simulation of virtual humans. I am interested in crowd simulation and coordinated multi-agent simulation for real-time interactive virtual environments. I am working with the Center for Human Modelling and Simulation at the University of Pennsylvania in improving the behavior or virtual agents. You can find more information in the HMS web. I am also studying presence in Virtual Environments as a validation method for crowd simulation, this work is being carried out with Prof. Mel Slater at Universitat de Barcelona.
