I was born in
Barcelona on March 23, 1977. I graduated in Computer Science at the Technical University of Catalonia, 2001.
From 1999 to 2001, I participated in the European Masters Study in
Language and Speech. In 2001, I realized a 9 month internship at
the Panasonic Speech Technology Laboratory, in Santa Barbara,
California. In April 2002, I joined the NLP-group and started a Ph.D. in
Artificial Intelligence. From 2003 to 2007 I was granted by the
Spanish Ministry of Science (ALIADO project). Now I
work as specialized research assistant (OpenMT project). My research interests
relate to Machine
Learning applied to
Natural Language Processing. My work is mostly focused on
Empirical
Machine Translation and its Evaluation. I defended
my Ph.D. thesis on July 2, 2008.
