- Martí Zamora, on algorithms for analyzing temporally annotated healthcare records, an industrial doctorate at Amalfi Analytics.
- Juan González (co-supervised with Aleix Ruiz de Villa), on efficient algorithms for causal inference from observational and interventional data.

- Gilles Blondel (2023, co-supervised with Marta Arias), on inferring and reasoning about causality with causal graphs.
- Javier Fernández de la Rosa (2022. Main supervisor: Luke Bornn). An industrial doctorate on sports analytics at FC Barcelona (Barça).
- Rafael Mena-Yedra (2020, co-supervised with Jordi Casas), an industrial doctorate on traffic prediction and management at Aimsun. Topic: Using Machine Learning to predict traffic in road and urban networks.
- Matteo Ruffini (2019), on learning latent-variable models and applications to healthcare data.
- Josep Ll. Berral (2013) (co-supervised with Jordi Torres), currently postdoc researcher at Barcelona Supercomputing Center. On using Machine Learning for efficient management of data centers.
- Borja Balle (2013) (co-supervised with Jorge Castro), currently at DeepMind, formerly at Amazon Research and U. Lancaster. On spectral methods for learning latent variable models.
- Javier Alonso (2011) (co-supervised with Jordi Torres), currently Machine Learning Software Engineer at Amazon. On using Machine Learning for dealing with software aging in large data centers.
