I am an assistant professor at Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona (FIB) in the department of Llenguatges i Sistemes Informàtics, at the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). My PhD Thesis was on multi-objective optimization problems, advised by Javier Larrosa. During 2009 I was in a one-year postdoctoral leave at University of California at Irvine (UCI), working in Rina Dechter's group.

My area of research is in Constraint Satisfaction. In particular, I am interested in optimization problems (either multi-objective or mono-objective) under the graphical model paradigm.

I usually read a spanish blog called microsiervos. It deals with all that you can imagine. Thanks to that blog I found out two amazing documentaries about the Fermat's Last Theorem and the so-called Hawking Paradox.

You can see these documentaries either on the BBC, youtube or google video.
