I am acting as associate editor or member of the editorial board for the following international journals

• June 2009: I was invited to give a keynote talk on hybrid metaheuristics at BIOMA 2010 to be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia

• February 2009: Watch a short interview with me on swarm intelligence broadcasted by the Spanish channel TVE2 (in Spanish)

• September 2008: See the transcript of a recent interview with me at Dossier Tecnologico

• March 2008: I was invited to co-chair (together with Carlos Cotta) the track Combinatorial Optimization and Metaheuristics at GECCO 2009.

• February 2008: I was invited to give a tutorial on swarm intelligence at PPSN 2008.

• September 2007: I was awarded with the IEEE Transactions of Evolutionary Computation outstanding paper award 2005 (bestowed in 2007) for the paper Search bias in ant colony optimization: On the role of competition-balanced systems (co-authored with Marco Dorigo).

• July 2006: I won the best paper award of the track Evolutionary Combinatorial Optimization at GECCO 2006.

• January 2006: The KCTLIB is updated with the newest results from the literature.
