Short Bio


Professor Manuel Hermenegildo has a strong academic record in computer science where he has been very active and has a strong prestige in the areas of logics, logic applied to computation, parallelism, logic, functional and programming theory and also in areas that are related to computer architecture. He creates a way between areas of research spanning from theory to application and form software to architecture.


He has been active as a researcher both in Europe and in USA and knows well the education and research systems of both continents.

He has hold responsibilities in research policy in Spain, being the former the Director of the Spanish National Research Directorate (Spanish central agency financing research in all areas of science and technology), an agency that was initiated by him. He also has been active in the technology transfer area and know is the Scientific Director of the IMDEA insitute for advacned software technology.
