Visa information for EMNLP 2010
Persons visiting Cambridge from countries other than the United States must have a valid passport and may require other documentation such as visas. Check with your nearest consulate or embassy. Conference attendees who need a visa to travel to the US are encouraged to apply for the visa as soon as possible.
Obtaining a US visa is a process that usually takes around two months. Since there are exactly two months between acceptance notification date and the start of the conference, we are running under a very tight schedule.
To start the application process as soon as possible, we will ask authors who need an invitation letter to apply for a US visa, to inform us about this situation when they submit their papers. There will be a specific section in the START submission form requesting all the necessary information (name, affiliation and complete postal address). Having this information in advance will allow us to prepare the invitation letters and send them to authors of papers above a certain threshold well before the acceptance deadline (~2.7 months ahead of the start of the conference).
