Abstract:
In the first half of this course we give an introduction into reconfigurable computing. After a short overview of the technological background we introduce different reconfigurable architectures, e.g., FPGAs and reconfigurable meshes. Their algorithmic properties are deiscussed based on a selected applications. In the second half of the course we study so called realistic parallel computing models. We concentrate on the BSP model and LogP model. Both models are compared with respect their properties for algorithm design and how exact they represent properties of parallell computers.
